Muscat

The city has numerous mosques,museums and forts including the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Ruwi Mosque, Museum of Omani Heritage, National Museum of Oman,Sultan's Armed Forces Museum and forts like Bait Al Falaj Fort.

Nizwa

The main tourist attractions in the city are Nizwa Fort, the traditional Souq and Falaj Daris. In the 1990s, the Jama, the fort and the souq which sit next to each other in the centre were renovated using the same traditional material.

Sohar

This is an attractive region for tourists due to its clean, safe beaches and the plethora of archaeological features. Visitors will be attracted to its large souq with handy tailors,fruit sellers and fishermen vying for space and its fort which stands apart.

Sur

Sur is where authentic dhows are still built in the traditional fashion. If you are an enthusiast of hand-made wooden boats and ships, definitely worth visiting the small boat museum that has a retired down and has the dhow workshop.

Nakhal and Barka

Nakhal has a large fortification in the Al Batinah Region of Oman. It is named after the Wilayah of Nakhal. The fort houses a museum and has a hot spring nearby Al Thowarah hot spring.Barka has a very good fish and souq market to see.

Salalah is the capital city of Oman's southern Dhofar region. It is the second largest city in the SultanateSalalah is the gateway to Oman’s governate of Dhofar.Today Salalah is still known for the cultivation and trade of frankincense.
